The new 3rd & 4th grade basketball program will feature one skills session and one game each week for all participants. The skills sessions will have multiple coaches working together to teach a variety of skills with a low player to coach ratio. Members of the Bronco Travel Basketball Board and Hampden Academy coaches will be involved with those sessions.
One travel team will be formed for each gender to compete in the EMBBL. That team will be formed in early November as games begin on November 19th. The travel team will have an additional practice each week with the designated coach and play a game in the Eastern Maine League on either a Saturday or Sunday throughout the winter.
For those not placed on the travel team, players will play a Saturday game at the Rec Center. Teams will be created at game time each week. This will provide an opportunity to play with and against different players and to keep games competitive.
All players will receive a purple & white reversible Bronco jersey to be worn in skill sessions and games.
At the end of the winter program in February, we will form additional teams to participate in weekend tournaments for those who are interested. These tournaments will be held in surrounding area towns consisting of games on Saturdays & Sundays.
If you are placed on the travel team, there will be an additional $30 fee to cover the cost of entry fee into the EMBBL (payable to BTBC directly after rosters are set).
There will be an informational session for parents on 10/10/17 at the Skehan Rec Center 6:00-7:00pm.
