YOU MUST REGISTER FOR A YOUTH USATF MEMBERSHIP ONLINE IN ADVANCE OF REGISTERING YOUR ATHLETE ON THE HAMPDEN RECREATION WEBSITE. YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENTER YOUR USATF MEMBER NUMBER FOR IN THE QUESTIONS AT CHECK OUT. ALL STUDENTS MUST BE REGISTERED INDIVIDUALLY ON THE USATF WEBSITE AT A COST OF $35 PER CALENDAR YEAR.

USATF sanctioned program allows children to experience the various events of track and field in a positive atmosphere. Participants will practice twice per week this year. Transportation to meets is the responsibility of each participant. Regular season meet start time is typically 2 PM on Thursdays with an arrival time of 1pm for team warmup. The State Meet is scheduled for Saturday, August 9th at Cony High School. Complete schedule and information sheet for this program will be posted when completed by Maine USATF.

First practice will be Tuesday, June 24th at Hampden Academy Track and Field Complex. Meet fees of $21 per athlete must be paid in cash at the first practice. The first meet is Thursday, June 26th (location TBD).

Program Equipment/Supplies Required: please wear comfortable clothes for exercise, and sneakers or track spikes, bring a filled water bottle, and sunscreen.

  • Meet fees must be paid in cash at the first practice on Tuesday , June 24th. Please bring $21 in cash per athlete and check in with staff at the track to complete this step of the registration process.
  • As of 2021, Registration fee DOES NOT Include the USATF registration fee. You will need to register your athlete for USATF online before completing the Hampden Recreation registration as you will need to list out your 2025 USATF Member Number at the conclusion of the registration on this website.
  • No refunds for this program.
