This is an active recreation program and participation in all group activities is expected. Preschool Wednesday 5:00 - 5:30 S4 Requirements to register for this level: Must be able to swim width of pool using beginner stroke without assistance or flotation, float on front and back without assistance, kicking and finning on back without assistance. Class is taught in deep water.Children build endurance and learn to tread water. Students concentrate on stroke efficiency for front crawl and backstroke. Elementary backstroke and rotary breathing is introduced. For completion, student must swim one width of pool front crawl and backstroke using proper breathing and arm movements and pass deep end test. Promoted to Advanced Beginner.
5:45 PM - 7:45 PM	Open Gym Dates - Spring Open Gyms Join us for Open Gym this session...get some exercise, have a game inside with your friends, or keep your skills sharp!  Students grade 3 and up may attend the open gym without parent on site.  Families with students younger than grade 3 welcome to attend with parent remaining on site.This is a drop in Co-ed program. Class is taught in deep water.Children build endurance and learn to tread water. Students concentrate on stroke efficiency for front crawl and backstroke. Elementary backstroke and rotary breathing is introduced. For completion, student must swim one width of pool front crawl and backstroke using proper breathing and arm movements and pass deep end test. Promoted to Advanced Beginner.

Elementary backstroke and rotary breathing is introduced. 7:00 AM - 8:30 AM	2024-2025 Kid's Korner Before and After School program - AM Session Please call the office at 862-6451 to inquire about any open spots.The Town of Hampden Recreation Department is pleased to provide this program for students enrolled in the McGraw and Weatherbee Schools in Hampden.  The Kid's Korner program is a before and after school program located at the Skehan Recreation Center for children in Kindergarten through 5th grade.  It encompasses a variety of activities from homework time to arts and crafts, games, outdoor play and themed activities. This is an active recreation program and participation in all group activities is expected.
